What a wonderful little home made "housewife", or needle holder. It was made of pieces from a leather book, and some handspun and woven wool and some silk, and a lovely little silk ribbon.  Probably dates to the Civil War era, in fact it was found with a group of Civil War memorabilia.

Housewife                          $90.

Really special early embroidered blanket. This one was found in KY, probably dates to the early 19th C, and is embroidered in red and blue wool  yarn in crewel stitches on a wool and linen homespun blanket background with a center seam.  It has a few patches and mends, the moths have been busy, but overall just a beautiful thing.

Early Blanket                               $650.
Crewel embroidered pillow top in the neat earthy tones is 16 " long x 10 1/2" high.  Dates to the 1930's, backed with brown linen.

$195.00
There are really 2 pillow covers pictured together. Both are made from the remains of a blanket that had four embroidered corners.  The blanket was somewhat of a basket case but enough could be saved to make these covers which you could use on your bed pillows like a sham. One even had initials on it. Blanket wool with wool yarn they measure 35" long x 21 1/2" wide which is perfect for a queen size pillow.
